2. Client-Side Browser Processing

The vast majority of utilities on TheToolMint—including our Image Compressor, Image Resizer, PDF Merger, Word Counter, JSON Formatter, JWT Decoder, Password Generator, and Wheel of Names—operate entirely inside your web browser using native Web APIs (such as HTML5 Canvas, Blob, and Web Crypto).

  • Your uploaded files, images, and documents are not transmitted to our web servers.
  • Passwords and cryptographic keys are generated in your local RAM using crypto.getRandomValues() and are discarded immediately when closed.
  • JWT tokens and JSON payloads are parsed locally and never logged or stored.

3. Local Storage Usage

We utilize your browser's localStorage solely for non-sensitive interface preferences, specifically:

  • thetoolmint_theme: Remembers your Dark or Light mode appearance preference.
  • thetoolmint_recent_tools: Stores a list of up to 6 tool slugs you recently visited to populate the "Recently Used" shortcut shelf. No tool inputs or document contents are ever stored here.
  • wheel_of_names_entries: Preserves your custom participant names locally for your convenience.

4. Server Logs & Analytics

Like standard websites, our hosting servers automatically record standard web server request logs. These logs may include your IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, and requested file paths. These logs are used strictly for network security, DDoS mitigation, and server diagnostics.

5. Third-Party Advertising

TheToolMint is free to use. In the future, we may display advertising from third-party networks (such as Google AdSense) to offset infrastructure costs. Third-party ad vendors use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
